Digitalization Needs Diversity

Lone Aggersbjerg, vice president operations SAP SE, advocates for more visibility for women in technical professions. The Danish woman has, therefore, launched two initiatives within the company. In December 2018 she was awarded the Digital Female Leader Award (category: Diversity). Here she explains what drives her - in 99 words:

“Digitalization will not happen in a human and sustainable way if we do not ensure space for total diversity. What amazes me again and again is that it’s not so easy to find a woman in a company with more than 90,000 employees who speaks publicly about a technical topic. That’s why I started the Women in Technology SAP program and recently launched the SAP internal speaker portal, Technically Speaking. Our goal is to encourage women in technology to become visible—inside the company, but also outside. We want to give technology a female face.”
